One Day in Santiago, Chile
Arriving in Santiago
I splurged on a car service from the airport to avoid dealing with roaming charges and figuring out Spanish Uber after a 12-hour flight.
Thirty minutes later, we pulled up at the Sheraton. It was nearly 5pm, and we were both craving burgers. After checking TripAdvisor, we found a well-rated spot called Holy Moly, about a 30-minute walk from the hotel. The concierge assured us it was fine to walk. The burgers hit the spot, and it felt amazing to get some fresh air and stretch our legs after all that travel.
The next day, we had breakfast at the hotel and headed over to Cerro San Cristobal. We took the gondola to the top of the 860-meter hill, soaking in the views of Santiago. Afterward, we rode the funicular down and walked back to the hotel, where we spent the afternoon lounging by the pool.
Dinner didn’t happen until 10pm, but that’s the norm here – and it was a meat feast!
