Smoked Out in Bryce Canyon
After hiking in Zion, we drove an hour and a half northeast to Bryce Canyon. We’d visited Bryce a few years back, and had fond memories of amazing landscapes and great hiking. We stayed at the Lodge at Bryce Canyon, which is the only accommodation inside the park. We were steps from the Rim Trail, and spent our first day walking from Sunrise Point to Bryce Point (then we took the shuttle back to the lodge).
The winds shifted in the afternoon, blanketing the park in smoke from a nearby forest fire. Our clothes smelled like a campfire, and it made for an interesting sunset.
We woke up early to catch the sunrise, however the smoke was very heavy at this point. We decided to check out early and head over to Monument Valley.
