Swimming with Sea Lions in Jurien Bay

This post is part of our Western Australia road trip. In case you don’t want to read this sequentially, or you are looking for another part of the trip, here are some shortcuts:

When we visited Jurien Bay in 2020, right before the world closed down, I knew we’d be back. As luck would have it, Jurien Bay is a perfect stopover between Kalbarri and Perth.

We stayed at the Jurien Bay Motel Apartments again, however this time we requested a room on the ground floor because we had a lot of gear to schlep back and forth. Ours was the cleanest car in the lot 🙂

We planned to do two days with Turquoise Safaris but the wind was picking up so we changed to two swims on the same day. It was 9c/48f when we boarded the boat, so the 19c/66f water felt nice and warm

The sea lions were as friendly as we remembered, with the exception of one who liked to nibble fins.

Here are a few of our favourite images from the swims, which were a perfect way to end our road trip of the Coral Coast of Western Australia.
